Rock'n Roll (Photo) Album
This past Friday I had the chance to take photos of a band for the bass player's farewell performance. It was a terrific experience for me. Not only did I get up front and personal, but I was especially challenged by the lighting which is so wonderful to work with. In this case I opted not to use the flash as that would have detracted from the cool stage lighting and the special effects it presents in a scene. Even when the skin tone reflects the blues and ambers from the lights it all plays a part in the quality of the images.
This particular event was a chance to take photos of a band that has been together for over 11 years. The bass player is moving to a new town so this was their farewell performance as a team. However a new bass player will be joining the band and that will give me another opportunity to take some new photos for their website and posters.
Check out the lighting below, and how it forms a "hair-lo" - my word for a halo around the head. I always look for that back lighting to create a cool effect.
What I like about the image below is the 3 main performers are all singing and IN the shot.
Until the next gig,
