It's so much fun collaborating with new moms and their baby's first year photographs.  From the very first few days of a newborn to the major milestones at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and the biggie - ONE year!

Two recent photo sessions were so much fun.  For the past year I have been capturing the milestones of my first set of twin boys.  From the first session taking baby bump photos at Cavallo Point Resort to their first steps, it's been such an honor to be entrusted to capture their first year.  This past weekend I worked with the mom who put so much creativity and energy creating these wonderful props for their photo session.  These will be used at their first birthday party which I'll be capturing too.

My next fun session was with this beautiful little girl who is about 7 months old.  At this stage babies are starting to sit up and are very interactive and engaging.  I just got this wonderful rustic large mirror and thought I would take it for a spin.  Babies just LOVE to see faces, whether they realize it or not, it is just so adorable to see them smiling at their reflection.  Or do they think it is another cute baby they see?

A key element to using a mirror is ensuring it is safe, won't scratch the baby's soft skin, and can support their weight.  You also need to find a flat surface.  I also made sure that the beautiful willow tree was part of the reflection.  So check it out, and see how you can have fun using mirrors.  I am going to use this mirror on more sessions, there's lots of ways to incorporate it.  Can't wait to use it again soon!
